The Social Emotional Education and Development (SEED) Research Group is a collective of current and previous graduate students under the direction of Dr. Shelley Hymel, located in the Faculty of Education at the University of British Columbia. Our members come from a variety of program areas such as school psychology, counselling psychology, special education and human learning and development.
We engage in research that benefits the development of children, youth, families and communities. Our projects are realized through collaborative partnerships with local schools and other universities, and funded by several organizations, including the Edith Lando Foundation. As part of our active research agenda our members aim to disseminate knowledge through a verity of means including delivering school and community workshops, presenting at local, national and international conferences, and publishing in refereed journals.
