The Social Emotional Education and Development (SEED) Research Group is a collaborative group of current and previous graduate students under the direction of Dr. Shelley Hymel in the Faculty of Education at the University of British Columbia. Our members come from a variety of program areas such as school psychology, counselling psychology, special education and human learning and development,

Our research foci include bullying and harassment, aggression and school violence, school climate, gangs, and social emotional learning. Our populations of interest include children and adolescents, gay and lesbian transgender youth and immigrant populations.

Our research is realized through a variety school-university partnerships, and supported. Please see our current and past research projects, as well as presentations and publications for further information regarding our research.
